This Privacy Policy covers Mouse Scroll, developed by Bohdan Bilous and presented by macapp.studio. It explains the information used to customize scrolling and the information you choose to send when contacting support.
1. Scroll Input and App Settings
Mouse Scroll processes mouse-wheel events on your Mac to apply smoothing, direction, distance, and acceleration settings. Modifier-key actions use the state of the keys held while scrolling. Per-app rules use the identity of the relevant app to apply your chosen settings.
The app does not record the text you type or capture screen content. Processing a held modifier key for a scrolling action is not a record of your typed text.
2. On-Device Processing
Scroll processing takes place on your Mac. Mouse Scroll does not send your scroll events, modifier-key state, or app rules to us over the network. Its scrolling features do not need an online account.
Preferences and per-app settings are kept on your device so the app can apply your choices. Device backups or shared access to your Mac may make local preferences available outside the app according to your own system settings.
3. Permissions
macOS permissions allow Mouse Scroll to process the input needed for its features. Review the request shown by your installed version. You can manage or revoke permissions in System Settings > Privacy & Security. Revoking access may prevent Mouse Scroll from changing scrolling behavior.
4. Support Correspondence
If you email hello@macapp.studio, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to answer your question and resolve your request. Avoid including passwords, payment details, or other information that is not needed for support.
Support correspondence is separate from the app’s local scroll processing. You may ask us to delete correspondence, subject to any retention required by applicable law.
5. Apple and Other Services
Apple handles App Store downloads, payments, and any information you share through Apple’s services under its own privacy terms. We do not receive your full payment-card details from an App Store purchase. The apps and websites you scroll in continue to handle your activity under their own policies.
6. Your Choices and Local Data
You can adjust or remove per-app rules, reset settings using the app’s General controls, turn Mouse Scroll off, and choose whether it starts at login. Removing the app may leave preferences on your Mac. Contact support for help removing remaining preferences; backups may retain separate copies.
We do not have a server copy of your local scroll input or preferences to retrieve or erase on your behalf.
7. Changes and Contact
If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated and any required notice or consent provided. Questions about privacy or your support correspondence can be sent to hello@macapp.studio.
